CULTURA GENDER LAB
The Cultura Gender Lab is a laboratory established within the University Centre for International Cooperation (CUCI) at the University of Parma. The initiative was launched by Professor Nadia Monacelli and is dedicated to study, training, and interventions on issues related to gender-based violence, gender relations, rights, and policies for protection and prevention.
The laboratory was created in continuity with activities and research already well established within the University, such as:
- events dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (including the meeting “Women and Mothers Victims of Violence: From the Rhetoric of Help to the Responsibility of Intervention,” with the participation of scholars, professionals, and experts in the field);
- the series of meetings “What Anthropologists Say Today – Gender & Rights,” which, in its sixth edition, involved hundreds of students and numerous institutional and cultural organisations.
The Cultura Gender Lab aims to become an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional space for dialogue, research, and training, dedicated to the critical study of gender dynamics, violence, and discrimination, with strong attention to collaboration with schools, local authorities, professionals, associations, territorial networks, and educational communities.
